City Palace - City Palace has been built over a period of 400 years under the reign of the Mewar dynasty. The palace is divided into several museums. The City Palace museum is the first of these, and comprises of a series of palaces, private chambers and courtyards, connected by narrow passages. The palace is adorned with traditional Mewari paintings, stained glass windows, colorful mosaics, and beautiful mirror-work everywhere.
Saheliyon-Ki- Bari - A garden laid out in the early 18th century by Sangram Singh II for a group of forty-eight young women attendants who accompanied a princess to Udaipur as part of her dowry. There is a beautiful lotus pool here, surrounded by numerous fountains, kiosks and marble elephants.
Bagore-ki-Haveli - Located on the banks of Lake Pichola, this haveli is an illustrious palace decorated by mirrors. Presently the government uses it as a cultural Centre for western India with a fully functional museum and various musical activities occurring throughout the year.
Jagdish Temple - A 17th century holy shrine is associated with Lord Jagannath, a form of Lord Vishnu.
Lake Pichola - In the evening, proceed for the Boat Ride on the placid waters of Lake Pichola. From the boat, you will be able to view the city of Udaipur as it rises majestically above the lake in the middle of the Rajasthan desert. This picturesque lake was constructed by a local gypsy in the 14th century, and later consolidated by the ruler of Mewar, Rana Udai Singh II in the 16th century. Its coast is lined with the City Palace, ghats, havelis and hills, while the lake itself is dotted with numerous island palaces.
Jag Mandir Palace - The Jagmandir Island Palace was built during the 16th and 17th centuries in the middle of the lake which served as a hideout for Prince It has beautiful carvings, a pretty green marble chhatri, a small museum, and a restaurant offering scenic views. Other smaller buildings include Mohan Mandir and Arsivilas. There is also a museum showcasing photographs, maps, paintings and architectural drawings.
